Unfinished Clone Recovery

Updated over 4 months ago

The Unfinished Clone Recovery feature helps you pick up where you left off if a clone wasn’t completed successfully. If something interrupted the cloning process - like a connectivity issue or a crash - Demostack keeps a draft of that clone so you can resume or manage it later.

What Are Unfinished Clones?

An unfinished clone is a copy of your application where the cloning process didn’t fully complete. Rather than losing your work, Demostack saves a draft clone that you can resume, complete, or discard.

Key Features

  1. Automatic Draft Capture
If a clone fails to complete, Demostack automatically saves a draft so you can return to it later.

  2. Banner Notification
When an unfinished clone exists, a banner appears in the desktop app—guiding you to resume the clone directly from your dashboard.

  3. Restore Modal
When you open the draft, you’ll see options to:

    1. Continue cloning – Pick up where you left off

    2. Mark as complete – Save the current state and remove the “unfinished” status

    3. Delete – Remove the draft if it’s no longer needed

  4. Five-Day Recovery Window
Drafts of unfinished clones are available for 5 days. If you don’t take action within that time, the banner and draft clone will be automatically removed.
